2.2.0, Firefox 2.0.0.3, Thunderbird 2.0, Frostwire, Ktorrent, Amarok,
Flash, Java JRE, Beryl 3D and much much more. Almost 2 gigs of software
compressed on a single self bootable livecd that can be installed to
your hard drive provided it is compatible with your system and you like
the distribution. Over 5000+ additional packages available after hard
drive install through our Synaptic Software Manager. Please note
PCLinuxOS does not ship with Win32codes or DVD decryption software.
Proprietary Nvidia and ATI drivers available after hard drive install.

This is the public announcement for Pc Linux OS 2007.

I will be writeing a review from a newbies to linux point of view soon. I can tell you one thing to start , I am excited about my computer again with this OS installed and that is saying something.

On the install.

Easy as pie. If i can do it anyone can but I am taking too much credit. The os found all the hardware and installed all the drivers and apps automaticly. It took me exactly 17.5 min to install pclinuxos 2007.

On Apps and games,

There are office apps and editiing apps aplenty for any type of job or hobby i have not found somthing i wanted to do and was not able to do it with this os.

More to come soon. Sorry for taking so long im having a blast learning about this Operating System and the community. I will get back soon.

While I love a good linux distro... whats the "news" part of this? It seems to be closer to an "Ad".

Nope not a add more like a shout out m8. The more i use this the more excited i get. I am a total noob to this and ive fallen in love with this OS LOL. but i just thought it was news as to how Linux is seriously contending with Microsoft on ease of use, Innovation. I think it is a viable alternative to the Micorsoft OS. That in itself is news :-)

"news as to how Linux is seriously contending with Microsoft on ease of use" - and that's what the story should have mentioned. It would have been a way more entertaining and informative read that way, than a features list.
