Betty and Bob Matas are making the ultimate road trip.

The retired couple from New York has decided to hire a cab for their 2,400 mile journey to Sedona, Arizona.  Like many New Yorkers, the Matases don't drive and they didn't want to put their cats on a plane.  So they hired a New York cabbie, Douglas Guldeniz to take them to their destination. They met him after a recent shopping trip several weeks ago. Guldeniz is driving 10 hours a day for a flat fee of  $3000, plus gas, meals and lodging.

They plan to leave Tuesday on the 2,400-mile trip to Sedona, Ariz., with Guldeniz driving his yellow SUV cab 10 hours a day for a flat fee of $3,000, plus gas, meals and lodging.

Shouldn't they be taking a hybrid cab? Boo, SUV! Where's Al Gore!

They are actually taking a hybrid SUV NYC Taxi Cab!  And, it's estimated instead of the $1200 in gas it will only use $600 because it's a hybrid.
