I have signed up at www.newstrust.net and encourage all news wranglers to have a look.

It is a very interesting non-profit organization the purpose of which is to test the trustworthiness of online news stories. This is done by subjecting submitted  stories to a rigorous review process.

We're going to start submitting selected stories to NewsTrust and see what their editors think. I encourage all of you to have a look and let me know what you think.

An interesting idea... at the risk of sounding too territorial, how does that differ from our job? I realise a probable diffence in scale (it's ALL they do), but still. Also, our eyewitness stuff would likely fall outside their vettability, and, yes, I think I just made up a word.

On the other hand, newstrust could act as a litmus test for our own editorial work.

Or maybe this is all just may chance to say "well done" on your new hardcore avatar!

"hardcore avatar"

I noticed that last night! ANG is putting the hand to the man. Hmm, maybe I'll come up with something more witty later.

Hardcore avatar it  is. NewsTrust looks interesting to me, not only because what they do might be extremely valuable of itself, but because of the ways we can use it to make sure we ourselves are- in Jordan's ineffible and praiseworthy neologism-persons of vettability. We can test ourselves with it, differ from it, and so on. I registered today. It itself is a good story.
