Until a couple of days ago I was able to add comments and send messages without the CAPTCHA box coming up. Now it happens all the time.
In additions when I try to manually add highlighted articles from a website it triggers the spam filter without a CAPTCHA and just tells me the spam filter has been triggered and my submission will not be accepted.
My question is, does this have something to do with the settings on my computer or is that something that is triggered by the NP server?
How can it be corrected?

As far as I understand it, it doesn't have anything to do with your computer settings, and is something on the site.
I'm afraid I personally don't know more, but will alert Jordan to this post.
Sorry about this!

Thank you Amy. It is a bit aggravating.

Hi, please send me a PM with an example that triggers such behaviour. Or describe one here or in PM. Thanks in advance.
Lately we have had sophisticated spam comments where the anon user simply adds a spam link to the end of his comment (which might be otherwise a neutral text). I think the spammyness detector is being taught all the time and I am afraid that these examples we have been feeding it might have taught it a bad lesson or... well.. something along the line. Anyway, with an example we can start looking around.

Hi nagba
The spam filter is triggered and the CAPTCHA box appears with every PM I send. I just posted a comment after your reply to my initial message without any input and the CAPTCHA box appeared.
It appears for every reply I send to a PM.
In story threats, CAPTCHA boxes appear with every comment I post.
When I try to post a link or manually add a highlighted paragraph, i.e. [q url= etc the spam filtere is triggered without the CATCHA box.
It could very well be that the SPAM filter is over sensitive.
I hope this describes it a little better.
This just triggered the CAPTCHA box when I tried to post it.

Your submission has triggered the installed spam filter and will not be accepted.

I have been getting the CAPTCHA's every time I try to post a comment or reply to a message. I had a word with Amy regarding the matter and she assured me that its a common problem and the tech guys are working on it.

Yes Samir, that is what I have been told here as well. The problem is that it does not allow links or highlighting in comments now.

The CAPTCHA still continues to haunt me. LOL. I just can't figure out how does it keep on coming every single time I post a comment or even reply to a message. I would request the Tech Guys to help me out with this.
Thanks in Advance!

As have I for the last several weeks, to the point, no captcha provided, and everything I do is rejected.
Does this mean we are rejected by NowPublic now?

I think the settings are just fine, considering you've been posting spam stories: http://my.nowpublic.com/sports/alain-bernard#comment-417893

Rob, i get the captcha even just saying thanks to an email.
I can't make plain reply much less one with a link in comments.
And sometimes get the SPAM warning with no way to reply at all meaning no captcha provided. this has gone on for over a month now.
does this mean Now Public does not want me here anymore?
I'll probably get it for posting this too.
yeah, I did get it. and can't read the captcha either. wrong, one more time
