A few questions

Hello I've been away so maybe I've missed the answers to these questions.

What happened to Jarrett Martineau and Rob Walker? Did they leave without saying goodbye? Are they still permanent members of staff?

Who are all the new guest editors? Are they interns? Have they introduced themselves at all?

What happened to the daily news schedule which used to outline what Vancouver and Toronto would be covering? Does it no longer exist?

I am curious about the guest editors as well.  How does that work anyways?

Well no sign of anyone taking the time out to answer my questions, so I went on a magical NowPublic mystery tour and discovered the link to the current editorial team (I had some spare time during my lunch hour).

Jarrett Martineau no longer seems to be listed but Rob Walker is: So I guess I managed to answer the first of my questions myself as far as Jarrett is concerned, although it leaves me wondering where the heck Rob is.

But as for the other two queries. Well I'll just have to assume that several of the new guest editors are indeed interns (pleased to meet you) and that the daily news schedule that used to appear for everyone to be able to see really has met the same plight as that of the dodo.

Shame really (about the latter) as it was interesting to read and discover what Vancouver/Toronto had in mind to cover.

Cheers

Rob and Jarrett both left NP, although Rob more recently, hence his name still appearing on the list.

Interns have always had the same icon (white crown) as GEs, that is not at all new.

We stopped publishing a news budget in May because no members really seemed to use it, there was often duplication of staff stories anyway. So, we opted to change our focus allowing members to cover news before we do making it nearly impossible to publish a budget. We wait and see if it gets done and if not then we do it.

We have also decided to focus the efforts of trained staff on building traffic to the site in general so that members stories get more eyeballs. When posting according to what is being searched for online publishing a news budget becomes irrelevant.
