Goodbye, NowPublic

Tonight, I say, "Goodbye, NowPublic, but I'm not going to miss you."

For more than two years, I've endured your constant back-end problems and technical issues, managing to post more than 600 pieces, 57 of which made the front page.  Then, one day, my pieces stopped appearing on the front page after I ruffled someone's feathers, questioned the all-powerful editors, etc.

Tonight, the proverbial "camel's back" was broken when I received an e-mail from an editor who said I had violated NowPublic policy by posting something that was identical to something I had posted on my blog, Bob McCarty Writes.  I replied by telling that editor that almost every one of my 600-plus articles published at NowPublic during the past two-plus years appeared on my blog first.  And that's when I realized it was time to stop wasting my time -- and the time of ever-so-busy-and-important NowPublic editors -- and end this relationship.

"Goodbye, NowPublic."

i don't understand.... there's a tool in NowPublic that specifically allows you to cross post your story to a BLOG. HOW is that a violation of a policy?? Half of my better stories are culled from my blog or cross posted TO my blog by NP when i post here.

CONFUSED.

thank you. this is a little more clear. i don't want to flame, but i've seen stories that are NO original content posted here and not marked up, yet i've had to defend myself. it worked out ok so far. maybe i'm just not understanding something complex about this... having AS means very often not really feeling any motivation to deal with complex social or political issues, which, to me, this does feel a little like. that's why i responded. but you did offer up some clarity. What makes me a little annoyed is at how frustrating the NP tools are themselves to DO quotebacks. positioning them. even adding them during original story creation. the tool itself is HIDDEN. the NP website is entirely undocumented except in these little tips and FAQs instead of being self evident. that's not to flame the designers. calling out bad design isn't a personal judgment. it's talking about a functional problem.

AND WHY DO I NEED TO DEAL WITH THIS HARD TO READ OR LISTEN TO CAPTCHA WHEN I'M LOGGED IN?
