I understand that this is a period of transition, but it looks as if the community is losing the contributions of sometimes quirky but original thinkers.  The quest for polished professionally written stories may be elbowing out some of our contributors that add the yeast and fun to the group.  And when the fun goes ...

I've stopped posting for this reason.

I still visit the site but it's very boring now.

A sad state of affairs made even more unappetising by the lack of contributions, the focus on US celebrity posts and the not-so-mysterious NowPublic Staff happily recommending pieces by the few remaining permanent staff members and /or "producers" and thus determining the overall look of the site.

What happened to NowPublic, the site that covered international news stories "in more than 140 countries around the world" and brought on-the spot-reporting during events such as Hurricane Katrina and the Mumbai terrorist attack?

A sad demise and hardly worth even the occasional visit to read the few contributors still taking time to post.

A real shame.

I thought that nowpublic was a large community, that's why a joined, but it seems that the posts are very limited. I have been busy for a while, friend in hospital and some heavy commitment. It seems like a ghost town, since I last log on. what is the problem?

I agree, the site is very informative and awesome except for the very limited posts. Hoping to read more new articles.
