NP STAFF.. . YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION REQUIRED:
Some hacker has placed a picture of some random girl in a cowboy hat on my "channel" page next to my lead story.
I believe it's an attempt to disparage my credibility... just the latest in a series of hacks that my pages have experienced. Some you probably don't see, because it appears that "spoofed pages" are being inserted into my data stream on the U.S. end.
I have no control over the photo and can't take it down. Can you please do it for me?
NP's operations are being adversely impacted by this apparent malicious hacking. I have experienced most of the same affronts that "duo" has experienced.
NP, please consider filing a complaint or at least initiate an inquiry with Canadian telecomm officials in Ottawa... this appears to me to be interference with a Canadian company's operations, possibly as a byproduct of warrantless surveillance by the U.S. government and rogue arms of its security/intelligence units.
But first... please strike "random girl" from my page! Thanks.

As per my reply via email, this is not a hack, but a bug in how teaser versions of stories are displayed. We are indeed working on a fix.

A "bug"? The picture had to come from somewhere. Can't you take it down "manually"?
How could the insertion of a picture into a specific stream be a "bug"? Wouldn't someone have had to select THAT picture and put it on MY page?
Hard to see how this is random. Whatever, just please take it down. Thanks.

Scrivener,
I've done some poking around to find out what's going on. In fact this picture I think was supposed to be a "before" picture from a photo of abuse, I'm not entirely sure, as it would be difficult to gauge someone's intention. The bug is that both this and the "after" picture are not appearing on the footage tab in the story - where you should be able to have control over their appearance. I will pass this on.
In the meantime here are the links to the photos for you to make your own determination, both are apparently linked to the story, but as I say the bug is that they are not appearing in the footage tab - which we will look into.
Sorry for the troubles.

Scrivener,
I have sorted the issue and removed the photo from the page.
It was the result of two bugs and does not seem to be caused by a hack. It seems the images should have appeared in your story and that they were added through the standard upload tool, but they somehow remained "unpublished". Had this publishing error not occurred you would have had the ability to remove them yourself on the footage tab of the story page, which would have removed them from the member channel as well. That said, as they were not appearing in the story, they should not have appeared in the teaser.
I hope that clears up the issues. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
