I think keeping the same picture or articles on the page for such a long time really makes the page look old. More then that it also looks like not enough material is coming in to keep it fresh. This doesn't encourage people to keep going to that section to read new material. I think NP needs to review how they keep the sections interesting so that readers want to return to the section. Is NP having a problem attracting new content for this page? I enter articles in Style and I am beginning to think that there is a lack of contributors for this section.
This has nothing to do with the Sears article, only how frequently the page is refreshed. It doesn't help those who contribute if readers keep finding the same thing on this page week after week. If there any kind of process for updating these front pages?

The front page of the site?
If a picture is added to the article it is updated, which means it will appear on the front page again - that's probably why.
