Some general guidelines for highlight

Hello all,

We just wanted to post a few general guidelines for posting with our highlight tool as some questions have been cropping up lately.

We ask all of our members to comply by the same rule of using highlight. If any written material comes from an outside source on the web, then that material must be in a highlight box.

If a piece of material appears on a member's blog or another site first, but it is the member's own piece of work, then also, please use the highlight tool to post it on NowPublic so that a link can be provided back and proper attribution can be given. In this case, it would be a good idea to indicate either at the bottom or the top of the post that the piece of highlight is from a member's own blog or site, just so there is no confusion, but any text other than this is not needed, but of course, feel free to add more if you wish!

If a piece of work appears on NowPublic first however, and then is cross-posted from our site to another blog or site, then the highlight tool is not needed as it is located here first. Again however, a line of text indicating that this is the case would also be helpful, just to avoid any confusion.

If anyone is having trouble using highlight, please do not hesitate to contact us; any staff member will gladly help you.

We hope that this is helpful for all our members, and these rules do not exclude staff of course.

Thank you for the clarification on this Amy.

Some do post on several sites at the time though, or with in the same hour.

I think it would be a good reference point and a great way to ground my own suggestions for my clients looking to build a presence in social media. Thanks!
