NP Rank:
Wranglers
NowPublic’s News Wranglers are the Clint Eastwoods of user-generated content. Wranglers have it all: loads of power at their fingertips and the resources to apply it. Wranglers also have access to the command centre (NowPublic’s Houston, if you will), and can participate in regular live news discussions with NP staffers.
Like Uncle Ben Parker says, "With great power comes great responsibility".
Here’s what we expect our Wranglers to do:
Mark things “Good Stuff”: Hover over the Flag Story button at the bottom of any news story, and you’ll see a fancy checkmark. Clicking on itand leaving a meaningful comment gives the story a little zap of life—just watch stories marked as Good Stuff shimmy up the homepage. Make sure Good Stuff is really good—check out [this page about good stuffy newsness] for more info.
Leave comments: Not quite good stuff? Why not? Just want to say something without the burden of quality control? Leave a regular ol’ comment.
Write cream of the crop stories: As a Wrangler, you represent the best of the best. Your stories are thorough, fair and transparent. You acknowledge your sources, and give credit where credit is due. You’re a model citizen, sporting your Stetson with pride and honor, pardner.
Visit the Forum: Here you can find other Wranglers and staffers, see what everyone’s thinking and talking about, and join the discussion. Wonder why some things are good stuff while others are not? Need help? Want to air a beef? Come to the Forum and spew it.
Be attractive: Wranglers have to be at least as attractive as one NP staffer. This is decided by the formula, Cute = {victoria}2 / {ryan}.
In short, you must live up to our Code of Conduct in all ways. It’s the cowboy way.
Wanna jump on the covered wagon?
If you are interested in power and privilege (who isn’t?), connect with anybody wearing a Stetson or a Crown. Click on their name and send 'em an email...or you can always contact NowPublic directly.
