Highlight: Getting Started
Highlight is a tool that you can use with either Firefox (download full version), or Internet Explorer (download full version). For those of you using Internet Explorer we’d love for you to test out our new tool and help us make it even better. The current beta supports Internet Explorer 6 & 7 and is compatible with both Vista and Windows XP. Once you have installed Highlight in your browser, you're ready to rumble. Using it is pretty intuitive, so you can go ahead and discover all its features all on your own and just come back here anytime, There’s a help button on the top right. If you click on that you’ll end up back here anytime you need a tip or two.
Here’s where you get your hands dirty – metaphorically of course. One of the things you’ll notice once you’ve installed the tool on your browser is a new nowpublic logo on your Firefox toolbar.

If you don't see the button, make sure your toolbar is fully visible. You can open highlight from any page on the web. Click the icon once to open it; a second click will close it down again. You’ll notice that the publishing page opens from the bottom of your browser window. Here’s an example of what it looks like when in use - more on that when we take you through your first highlight - for now lets look at what's in the tool:

Notice some interesting things in this publishing window. A place for a headline, the editor area where you enter your post, and the tagging corral, to the right. We'll take you through all of this in a bit. Any time you want give it a try and come back to these instructions by hitting the "Help" link on the Highlight tool bar. Just like the highlighter you used to cram for tests, NowPublic Highlight brings important things forward. Let's walk through to see the tool in action...
