NowPublic Mobile Upload

Post text, photos and video from your mobile phone to NowPublic by emailing your footage to news@nowpublic.com. More advanced users can also upload content directly to the site by using the mobile application ShoZu. Find out more here.

To upload content from your mobile phone directly to NowPublic, make sure that you’ve added your phone’s unique email address to your member page (see below to find out how to obtain your phone's email address).

Follow these simple steps to upload from your mobile:

1. Visit your member page on NowPublic and select the Edit Settings tab.
2. Go to Your Mobile Settings and add your mobile phone's email address (see below).
3. Choose the photos, video, or text that you would like to upload and compose a new email.
4. Choose a subject line for your email — this will become your story’s headline.
5. Write body text — this will become your story’s description.
6. Attach photos and video — these will be uploaded as attachments to your story.
7. Mail your content to news@nowpublic.com and your contribution will be published automatically under your NowPublic member name.

Finding out your phone’s email address:

Check with your service provider to find out what plan you're signed up for. Each plan is different, however, in North America many carriers have a numbering standard based on 10-digit mobile phone numbers. For example, a T-Mobile number in North America looks like this: 1234567890@t-mobile.net.

Here are the email formats for some common North American carriers:

• T-Mobile: [your number] @ t-mobile.net
• Verizon Wireless: [your number] @ vtext.com
• Rogers Wireless: [your number] @ pcs.rogers.com
• Sprint PCS: [your number] @ messaging.sprintpcs.com
• Cingular Wireless: 1 + [your number] @ mobile.mycingular.com
• AT&T PCS: [your number] @ mobile.att.net
• Bell Atlantic: [your number] @ message.bam.com
• Bell Mobility (Canada): [your number]@ txt.bell.ca
• Cellular One: [your number] @ mobile.celloneusa.com
