The Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), the Ministry of Solid Minerals and Steel Development and other government agencies are set to give away the multi- billion dollar Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited to an Indian Company, Global Steel Holdings Limited (GSHL), in a deal that may probably become one of the most fraudulent in the history of Nigeria. Global Steel Holdings has been widely reported as being a crony of some highly placed Nigerians including, Gbenga Obasanjo, son of Nigeria’s President and Liyel Imoke, former Minister of Power and Steel who has been announced as the governor-elect of Cross River State. Gbenga, had sometime last year, in a newspaper report, acknowledged to have brought the Indian Company to Nigeria.
