To me this seems like a no brainer, but parents are a diverse and funny bunch. I'm a few months pregnant so I've been gravitating towards stories about babies and child birth, which is why I spotted this. I had high school friends (I won't name names) who used to use cough syrup to get high...why would parents think that it's good to give babies--not just children, babies--cough syrup? In any amount??? There should be a basic intelligence test you have to take before getting pregnant. Seriously.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a public health advisory, citing serious adverse effects linked to children — particularly those age two and younger —who have received too large a dose of over-the-counter medications.

For all the things you need a license for, anyone is free to breed. I'm not suggesting more paperwork, but people need to take more reponsibility for educating themselves: for those who don't already know, babies do not come with user guides!
