Alton Towers - Nemesis Rollercoaster
The history of Alton Towers, Staffordshire, England, starts with  Ceolred, King of Mercia, in the 8th century . . The 500 acres of beautiful gardens and grounds are perfect for relaxing and discovering the magnificent architecture, not forgetting England's largest theme park. Reading a good newspaper might spoil the escape to a historical, memorable and happy time.

A Theme park has stopped selling newspapers to visitors because the managers do not want bad news to interfere with people having fun.

Newspapers are no longer on sale at Alton Towers' Alton Stores, which previously sold seven national broadsheets and tabloids.

Russell Barnes, general manager of the park, said that the move would help Alton Towers to keep reality outside the park.

"Alton Towers is all about fantastical escapism, a place where people can temporarily forget about the world outside, let their hair down and escape with their families," he said.

"Exposure to bad news, politics and serious subjects like global warming have no place in the park, hence this decision."
