The UPEI student union has rejected a proposal to hand responsibility of the student newspaper over to a campus group, saying it wants a new committee to look at the issue.

UPEI Student Union president Ryan Gallant, who supported the proposal to take over the Cadre, was unable to attend Sunday's
meeting. Nonetheles, he praised the council for showing "maturity" by deciding it needed more
time to look at the issue.
