Last Monday, Hannity & Colmes devoted three segments to the Clinton interview. Tuesday, they spent the first half-hour of the show analyzing Clinton’s efforts on fighting terror. But while Wallace merely questioned Clinton’s efforts, Woodward’s book, a bestseller already in its third printing, makes allegations based on extensive reporting. The book says that Condoleezza Rice brushed off the CIA’s attempts to warn her that Al Qaeda was planning an imminent attack on the United States. Rice first claimed she didn’t recall the July, 2001 meeting described in Woodward’s book but yesterday the State Department confirmed it had, in fact, occurred. There are a number of other embarrassing allegations about the Bush administration and its war on terror that it has tried to deny. But as MSNBC reported, confirmatory admissions have been surfacing nonetheless.
