NO HOLDS BARRED: Arturo Gatti, Alfonso Gomez, Kermit Cintron, Emanuel Steward
On this edition of NO HOLDS BARRED, host Eddie Goldman previews the boxing card scheduled for this coming Saturday, July 14, at what is expected to be a sold-out Boardwalk Hall in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Atlantic City, New Jersey.
On that card, the ever-popular former world champion Arturo Gatti (40-8, 31 KOs) faces Alfonso Gomez (16-3-2, 7 KOs), and IBF welterweight champ Kermit Cintron (27-1, 25 KOs) defends his title against Walter Matthysse (26-1, 25 KOs, 1 NC). We spoke with Arturo Gatti and Alfonso Gomez at a New York news conference Wednesday about their fight.
We also spoke with Kermit Cintron about his fight as well as whether he actually plans to fight in mixed martial arts as had been recently reported. And we spoke with trainer Emanuel Steward, who trains Cintron, about his fight, as well as this past Saturday's win by IBF heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko, whom he also trains, over Lamon Brewster by TKO at the end of the sixth round in Germany.
Also, NO HOLDS BARRED is available through iTunes.
The show is in MP3 format, so may take some time to download.
The NO HOLDS BARRED theme song is called "The Heist", by musician Ian Carpenter.
