Well, the post election fever, or should I say slightly raised temperature, is dying down and everyone around me seems to be shell shocked. "What was all that about?", "Who actually won?"

There were some great moments after the exit polls. When a reporter told Schröder he couldn’t be chancellor because he didn’t have a majority, Schröder shot back: "Oh yes, I can",  I was waiting with baited breath for the whole country to shout back "Oh no, you can't!"

I have to admit that sometimes it's fun being an expat in Germany. Schroeder is digging in like a stubborn badger and Merckel is wearing a face that is Sauerkraut personified.

The most fun aspect is all the talk of what kind of coalition will be formed:-

Traffic Light - Red, Yellow, Green

Jamaican - Black, Yellow, Green

Or my personal favourite - Gambian - Black, Red, Yellow, Green

With a bit of luck we could see another election soon!
