I don't agree with this proposal at all.

The broadwater area is an
open area, big car parks and park areas. To put any building here will
spoil it completely by ruining and blocking any views in that area of
the great waterfront.

Theatre proposal for Broadwater car park

The Gold Coast Broadwater could be the backdrop to a new theatre if council gives the project a green light.

Project spokesman Leonard Lee wants to build the auditorium and music theatre school on the site of the Broadwater car park at Southport.

He says the existing car park has about 470 spaces.

"We are intending to replace that with about 1,000 which will be built into the complex," he said.

"The lower portal section of the car park, which houses 600 spaces, we're planning to give that back to the people of Southport free of charge during daylight hours."
