Of the eight worldwide locations that are set to host Al Gore's Live Earth concerts, only the US hasn't come through with a venue to host the event.

The
former US vice-president wanted to hold the concert, one of eight
global events, at Washington DC's Capitol Hill, home of the US Congress.

But Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell has objected because
the proposal to use Capitol grounds has not been reviewed by the Senate.

Another US city is now being discussed. The concerts will take place on 7 July.

We here at NowPublic have a few ideas of where Mr. Gore could hold his show. Here are our top five choices:

1. The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA

For a green show, look no further than the Gorge, a natural amphitheatre on the banks of the Columbia River in Washington state. It's all outdoors, and there are hoses to get water, and there's plenty of space to wander. Plus, the sound is perfect.

2. The Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, CA

Nothing says "support Al Gore" like a big Hollywood shindig. Would be great for spotting stars in the audience, which might get more TV viewership.

3. Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA

Bostonians need a boost, don't you think? Their city is an immensely interesting one, but one that doesn't attract a lot of big events like this. Maybe it has a bit of a reputation for high-intellect stuffiness. The Chili Peppers will remedy that with some funk, tout de suite!

4. Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO

Like the Gorge, Red Rocks is all about the outdoors. This time, however, instead of a riverside gorge, we're dealing with big red slabs of rock. The acoustics are supposed to be excellent, and the surroundings will remind everyone why climate change is important. The down side is it only holds about 10 000 people.

5. Damrosch Park at Lincoln Centre in New York City

New Yorkers love Al Gore almost as much they love outdoor concerts. Like LA, the potential for celebrity spotting is huge. And frankly, nothing happens in New York ever, so it's time they did something about that.

What about you? Where would you advise the Gore team to hold Live Earth if you had your say? Please comment below.

How about on a giant flat plane of ice in the Northwest Territories or Arctic or something. It would be like Burning Man, but all about ice. There would likely be significantly less nudity however.

FYI there's an event on July 7 at the Hollywood Bowl, summer is their busy season.
Check their calendar online to see dates that are already booked.
