It seems the Australian Governement is no more willing to help out this citizen than it is to bringing home David Hicks, who has been detained in Quantnamo Bay for years.

A Brisbane businessman stranded in China has accused Australian authorities of not doing enough to help get him home.

Miles Ellery travelled to China in July last year for a two-week business trip and he has been there ever since.

Chinese authorities imposed an indefinite travel ban on Mr Ellery, as he fights a state-owned corporation in a civil court case.

While the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT) says consular officials are working to ensure he gets a fair hearing in court, Mr Ellery says he feels abandoned.

"I've been treated unfairly and I'm a taxpayer and I therefore expect my Government to step in and give me some form of defence," he said.
