Copyright 2006, Robert Weitzel - Regina, Saskatchewan - 01/03/07 - Splish Splash I was takin' a... January drive in Regina. Not a song drivers usually get to sing in Saskatchewan at this time of year. Temperatures rose to near record levels today and many people tried to get out and enjoy it. Walking the streets of the prairie provinces in January usually involves wool socks, long-johns, two shirts and a parka. Today there were tee-shirts. The mercury reached 3 degrees celcius in the late afternoon. The arctic air is scheduled to return next week.

Here in Vancouver we wear "wool socks, long-johns, two shirts and a parka" when the temperature drops to 3 degrees. And when I lived in Mexico City 15 degrees was cold. It's interesting to see how much our bodies adapt.

Your story is now on the home page for awhile, and everywhere else the “good stuff” box shows up. Many thanks for your great work.

That arctic air I was referring to... It's here. Currently -38 Celsius with the wind chill. Brrr.
