Notley Hawkins's Channel

Notley Hawkins (b. 1964) has lived in Missouri his whole life. Born and raised in Columbia Missouri he studied painting and drawing at Columbia College with Sid Larson, a student of Thomas Hart Benton. He attended the University of Missouri in Columbia for his Masters degree and worked with noted artist and cartoonist Frank Stack. Notley also attended the prestigious Skowhegan School in Maine. His work is in many private collections as well as The State Historical Society of Missouri's collection. Although Notley never took a course in photography, he is firmly entrenched in the photographic arts now. After growing disinterested in painting, he took up photography a few years ago and is now an avid shooter. He takes pictures of all things Missouri including people, places, events and landscapes. Notley's award winning photogaphry has has been plublished in such magazines as Missouri Life and Show-Me Missouri Magazine as well as numerous newspapers. Mr. Hawkins' next photography exhibition is scheduled for June 15 to July 24 2008 at the Ashby-Hodge Gallery of American Art at Central Methodist University in Fayette Missouri.
