NowPublic is Rated PG-13

As far as online quizzes go, this one is a good one. If you go to Mingle2.com, you can enter the url of your site and it rates it according to a film rating, like your favourite movies would get. We're rated a PG-13, because our site contained the words dead (4x), porn (3x) and bomb (2x). So kids, some of our material may be inappropriate for children under 13.

As an adult I would prefer that Now Public had received a restricted to those 18 and over designation from that site. I don't think a PG-13 rating for a website that is supposed to be a REAL NEWS site is any accolade, nor something to brag about in the news business.

I don't go to a lot of PG-13 movies do you?

One of my problems with Now Public so far is that we are not willing to go to the wall to report on the world as it really is. The editorial policy seems to be to show a sanitized version of reality so as not to offend anyone, and to not take any risks in the name of REAL NEWS.
