Saquan Stimpson, Photographer originally from the Bronx, now Currently residing in Newark Delaware. While attending The High School Of Art and Design, I made up my mind to become an artist of some type - due to my knowing two teachers, who greatly influenced my decision - Ira Merit and Roy Biles. The funny thing is, I wasn't officially in Mr. Biles class, however I would stop in from time to time, so thank you for not kicking me out.
My Photography is about respect. Respect for the craft, respect for history, respect for the integrity of your images. I don't like to follow fads, using the same gear and techniques as everyone else. The method is about crafting images that are as ageless as your bond, images that hold their power and emotion long after trends have come and gone.
I get asked why I take pictures. Well, a-lot of people take pictures. There is nothing special about taking pictures. The more appropriate question to ask me is “Why are you so passionate about taking pictures?” Why am I so passionate about taking pictures, you ask? Good question. First and foremost I have a passion for photography, I'm always amazed by the transformation in the world of Photography from the Daguerrotype, Talbotype, Calotype, Film down to Digital. Once i start a project, i really can't stop until stop until the project comes to life, I look forward to learning new techniques, and solving problems that will occur, I mean you learn something new everyday. I take pictures to leave a mark. Photography is important to me. Photographs leave a legacy of how we see the world. This legacy is our mark. I want to make and leave a marks for myself and I want to make and leave marks for my clients. Remembering is important. Your mark is important.
