UPDATE: Gingrich Denies Diebold Bribery Connection in Technorati Ranking Scandal.
"Absolutely, categorically untrue."  With this terse response, blogger Nuke Gingrich sought to lay to rest the bribery rumors that have surfaced since his blog mysteriously catapulted to the top of the Technorati Rankings.  Officials at Diebold could not be reached for comment.   Developing....

Conservative blogging legend Nuke Gingrich officially received his 15 minutes of fame today, as his award-winning website, Nuke's News and Views received the #1 ranking by Technorati.

"It's not every day that an honor like this comes down the pike," said Gingrich, basking in the glow of his quarter-hour, enjoying a mint julip on his veranda.  "I want to thank all of the little people who helped make this possible."

Technorati representatives had no explanation of how Gingrich's blog jumped over 23,000 spots overnight to gain the coveted #1 position, other than to say, "It's some kind of technical malfunction.  Today, every blog on the Technorati system is ranked #1."

It's not every day we have a real-life blogocelebrity in our midst. I'm enjoying it whilst I can, since Nuke is one of our long-standing contributors: leftie or rightie, you gotta respect his dedication.

Meanwhile, Technorati's masthead reads, "We're doing maintenance on our ranking system, Some numbers may be out of whack for a few hours."

Yes, many hours plugging away at the keyboard.  Thanks for the kind words, Jordan.

Dang, it's hard to be humble when you're NUMERO UNO!  Heh™

Thanks Seedplanter.  With all these Diebold-Technoratigate rumors swirling around, it's good to know who your friends are.
