I'm in Seoul right now attending OhmyNew's International Citizen Reporter's Forum.  Although we at NowPublic tend to avoid using the term the crowd here is full of die-hard pro am reporters.  They come frrom across the globe. The event was opened by a surprise video address from the Korean President, Rho Moo-hyum.   He acknowledged the historical role that Ohmy played in his own rise to the Presidency:

Decoupling the chain of collusion between the government and the media, my Administration has maintained healthy tension with media organizations. In particular, the Internet News Briefing on Government Affairs and Cheong Wa Dae's Internet news bulletin, Cheong Wa Dae Briefing, are establishing themselves as essential tools in the Government’s efforts to accurately inform the public of policy issues of current interest and to facilitate close communication with Korean citizens.

mtippett, thanks for this. We were hoping you were eating some Kimchi, but listening to the President of the country speak is okay too, we guess. Keep us posted!
