One Million Mangroves for Cebu

MANDAUE, PHILIPPINES - The Rotary Club of Mandaue North together with the Rotary International District 3860, Municipal Government of Liloan, DENR and the Coastal Resource Management will spearhead a mangrove reforestation and a coastal clean up in Liloan, Cebu on September 15, 2007 as part of Clean Up the Philippines Day and Clean Up the World Weekend Celebration.


Clean Up the Philippines Campaign Manager for the Visayas and Rotarian Mr. Dann Diez said that their aim is to plant one Million mangroves all over the Island of Cebu.


The project also includes a poverty alleviation program for the community that will provide them with technical assistance and a livelihood program that will help sustain the environmental project in the area.
