The pundits will inevitably change these numbers but here is some immediate analysis done on the effect of the Libby affair:
SurveyUSA has a poll of immediate reaction to President Bush's decision to commute the prison sentence of Scooter Libby. SurveyUSA uses Interactive Voice Response (IVR) "automated" polling rather than human interviewers. But for a quick reaction poll of a breaking news story, this poll shows the advantages of speed that are possible with IVR technology.

I'm surprised that the Bush Administration did not justify the commutation of Libby's sentence by claiming it had evidence that had Libby gone to jail, the US would have been hit with a devastating terrorist attack. Or perhaps they might have insisted that Libby must be kept free to protect the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman.
