"A vote for Hillary is a vote to confirm that the USA is nothing but a
Machiavellian, power-driven monster that is willing to spill innocent
blood in the name of money and power..."

I can't believe anyone could cast a vote for this woman. But as far as facts go, we were told of WMD's in Iraq. We may have been fooled (like everyone else in the world), but we were not lied to. Besides we did not go to war with Iraq for that reason. Iraq broke the UN resolutions 17 times. YES 17 TIMES!! Would 18 be better? 20 times? What number would you pick? People need to get off of Bush. He did a horrible job of something most would have screwed up even more.

I'm not a Hillary fan, but in my humble opinion it's unrefined bullshit, probably inspired by Machiavelli's Divine Comedy.

I meant Dante, of course.:)

Orato, you've convinced me you've done the work - it's authentic. I also think that you've been fair and thorough. I didn't get the sense that you were hiding your biases, or passing off other's work as your own. Or worse -- getting paid by those you cover -- so it's transparent and independent. I also think you deserve praise for being an eyewitness, and for your investigative efforts.

None of the reasons above, but it deserves to be marked as good stuff since it opens up a whole new controversy not evident in the text.

Orato, I like this story. It's good stuff.

I think any opinion story that invokes discussion must be a good piece. The stories that are only hateful usually evoke hateful responses. There is really no value in purely hateful stories.

The beauty of a good opinion piece is that it leads to discussion.

As Linda McQuaig expounded in her book "It's The Crude, Dude", Iraq was invaded to serve the oil interests AND the military industrial complex. Price of oil quadrupled and the armaments industry got the biggest boost since the end of Cold War. There were other beneficiaries. No politician in her right mind could have opposed the forces at work.

From that perspective Iraq has been a big success, not a mistake. The U.S. won't be able to get out of that mess any time soon, but that's immaterial to the international corporate interests that run the country. The messier it is in the Middle East, the more profit they make.

U.S. won't elect a black president. Hillary seems to have the best chance for Democrats but opposition will play the fear card until they get their way. Kreskin has predicted that Rudy Giuliani will be the next president of the United States. He's never been wrong before, so I suspect that may already have been decided.

If Kreskin is predicting Rudy, I wonder if he would vote for him?

I think Obama may have the best chance of the Democrats. Black won't hurt him with voters, and I think if he continues to show poise under fire, Hillary will crack. All of the Democrats seem to have a chance. The Republicans are about even amongst the top few. To be honest we might as well handicap horses....it would be more predictable.

Sorry I haven't been around to respond - I took a few days off the Net for the holidays and it was GREAT! Anyways, thanks for the comments - I don't think anything I've posted has had garnered so many comments. I am not the original writers, but love to pass along bits that I think people would enjoy reading, or fuel people up for a good debate. Happy New Year everyone ... let's hope whoever takes office in the US will re-examine their ways ...
