That - nowadays - is the question ... in german discotheques.
As you might have heard, there was a long termed discussion about how to prevent non-smokers from very dangerous toxic smoke from tobacco products in Germany.

Politicians agreed that cigarettes should be banned from public buildings and those where people meet.
As the new rule was more or less well accepted in hospitals, schools, universities, etc. - and at least also restaurants there was (and currently) is a huge quarrel about the topic:
"Should cigarettes also be banned in pubs and clubs / discotheques?"

There was a lot of protest about this but finally it was decided to widen the law; in the middle of the year 2008 smoking in clubs, pubs, bars and discothekes will be punished with several hundred Euros - much to the distress of the barkeepers and owners.

Ignoring all the quarrel about dangerous smoke, financial penalties and politics there along comes another important question regarding the party folks; what will be the common smell of parties in the future?
And there - for sure - will only be one answer:
The smell of cold, disgusting sweat from dancing, non-smoking people.

It remains to be seen whether people will enjoy this new odour of "having fun" or wishfully remember the olden days where you weren't even able to see, trough the dust, your disgusting, sweating dancing partner.

How do you think about this very philosphical topic?
What side are you on? And how is it arranged in your country?
