Time for Governor Toll Roads to go!

Texas highways are in dire need of improvement and replacement.

Does the governor want to raise the gasoline tax? No. For one thing, his predecessor, Boy George Bush, has screwed up things so much gas prices are off the charts. He wants to sell public highways to private companies and "privatize" the highway system. So, Texans will be paying tolls on roads their tax monies paid to build in the first place.

Now, not only does this keep the gov in the no raised taxes mode, it expands his base. Never mind that he is upsetting a good portion of the public. He can count on three things.

  1. Much of that anger and frustration will not amount to anything in terms of action. Politicians these days can count on dissatisfied voters just sitting out elections.
  2. Any political fallout with the public will be counterbalanced as Perry keeps his real base, big business and highway contractors, happy with nice fat contracts.
  3. It actually expands his base, as he brings the toll road industry into the fold.

No, there will be no real effort to impeach Perry. Heck, the House of Representatives doesn't even have enough backbone to topple a tyrranical speaker.

However, it is no secret that Gov. Perry has his eye on a higher office, and has been mentioned as a possible running mate for Rudy Giulian.  Texans can't afford the embarrassment of send another Boy George Bush to D.C. in any position.

Perry must be denied any move up the political ladder.
