Vancouver: Gang Bang! by Barry Artiste

Opinion

With the spate of killings this month total 10 dead, does anyone see the idiocy of our taxpayer funded paid officials, our illustrious Mayor Sam Sullivan, Vancouver Police Spokesperon Tim Fannings, and yes of course let's not forget Mr. Green Jeans and Dairy Farmer cum elected Top Cop the Hon. Minister John Les.

These "Three Stooges of the Apocolpyse" all stated to the media little tidbits of idiocy in stating the 10 Gang slayings are not the result of any Gang War, but a misunderstanding of minds, a Tiff among men in arms perhaps.

The following coomments made to the media by these 3 Stooges,(though not Verbatim), were pretty damn close.

The brief comment  to the media from our Mayor Sam Sullivan was as follows: Vancouver is safe, when compared to Detroit.

The brief comment to the media from Vancouver Police Spokesmen Tim Fanning was as follows: These are not Gang Hits.

The brief comment to the media from our Liberal Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General John Les was as follows: There is nothing more we can do about Gangs and the slayings in this Province.

Listening today to the CKNW Radio Christy Clark show and comments from the taxpaying public,

The backlash to their comments were to say the least outrage.

The Mayor comparing Vancouver to the US Murder Capital Detroit (In years past) is akin to saying Detroit is not so bad, at least it's not Iraq!  One would think Atrophy was confined to the lower extremities and not the Brain, but then I digress.

The Police spokesperson stating, these are not Gang related Hits, but misunderstandings smacks of someone who is unclear of the concept of piecing two and two together.  Something most detectives in detective school, hell even Grade School and movies  can friggin figure out! "HELLO"!!!!!!!!

Then as soon as Mr. Fanning makes this statement, he states the Vancouver Police are going to set up a Street Level Gang Taskforce. My response to this was "Holy Crap Batman, Another One? " you already have multi jurisdictional one, but you want one just for the city of Vancouver?   But if you state these are not Gang related Killings to the media, why do you need to set up another "Go Nowhere" Gang Unit?

When Canada's TOP Drug Lord was gunned down 48 hours ago, you stated to the media 'You hadn't the foggiest idea who this guy was?  Yet, every police force across Canada had this dead guy pegged on their Radar for 10 years!  Soooooooo Tim, if you cannot recognize Gang Drug Lords, yet alone Gang Activity, I can see when you set up your own Gang Task Force, the headlines you will feed to the media and Public soon to follow will be..... Tim Fanning states, "Vancouver has no Gangs!!" Release the Butterflies!!!

The Mayor and the Vancouver POlice Department then go on the media to state British Columbia needs one unified Police force, whereby all municipal police forces in the lower mainland to be under one banner and one Police Chief. Then and only then will the fight against Drugs and Gangs be successful.

My Thoughts on this are since Vancouver is the predominate City in question to lead all municipal police forces under his domain, and a police department that cannot seem to know a Gang hit in their own backyard, will certainly not leave Police forces in other jurisdictions in other municipalities with any confidence. Beside a unified police force will have small towns subsidizing Vancouvers tax base through small town taxes meant to give small towns their own means to pay for small town services.  Can you all see where I am going with this?  A small town like Mission which has RCMP would then hand over money spent for RCMP policiing to go to the city of Vancouver, who I am sure an hour away send a patrol car when a Tim Hortons decides to open up in Mission.  Nearby Abbotsford has it's own fine police force who would have to be under Vancouvers new jurisdiction, much like the Greater Vancouver Regional District is for all other non police services within 20 kilometers in the lower mainland.  Somehow Taxpayers in small towns would get the shaft much to the City of Vancouvers Bloated Bureaucracy.

My thought on the above would be to make the entire Province under the rule of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.  They have resources city police do not have, both here and internationally.

I am now saving the best for last , that's right Now Public Readers, our Provinces TopCop and Dairy Farmer, Solicitor General John Les.  Mr. John Les stated today in the media The Province of British Columbia has done all it can in regards to stopping drugs and gangs.  There is nothing else that can be done period!

My thoughts were "Holy Crap" did I hear right! The TopCop admits in the media his government has washed their hands, thrown them up and said, there is nothing more we can do.

My thought on this juicy tidit of stupidity was I wonder how long he will have this cushy government job and is his John Deere warming up outside the legislature for the long journey back to his Chilliwack Farm.

In Ending

I cannot believe voters in British Columbia voted for these two politicans and a Vanouver Cop made such a blunder to the media.   An election cannot come soon enough for both of these Stooges.
