Young men's love lies not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes...

This is an opinionated piece (or a rant, in colloquial terms) I wrote on a blog I had a while back. It basically covers my take on the "death" of chivalry. Enjoy and please give feedback!

I believe that society has gone to the dogs;
Where have the days of courtesy towards all ladies gone?
So what if we're not living in Shakespeare's time?
It's the courteous values of chivalry that have to be re-introduced.

I really hate how the the media has portrayed women.
Especially when some girls (e.g. Lohan, Duff, Spears, Hilton, etc)
actually flaunt that kind of attitude/persona as being the trend to follow.
Add that with the attitudes rap artists portray in their music videos, its so undermining and degrading.

I wonder why some girls can actually like following this trend.
They can be so easily attracted to guys who act like the rough/'gangsta' guys portrayed in the videos and eventually turn numb to all the negativity surrounding guys like them.

I'm not saying that they should revert back to the fashion and attitudes of the Victorian era where women weren't even considered people.
All I'm asking is for girls to at least show some dignity in being who you are as a person rather than following the status quo.

well what can I say good topic but you now what it's a very broad one and you've just used very less words for it. and the examples given although they state some really good points are not so characteristic and not enough, never mind the very reason I started writing this comment was the usage of the word 'girl' instead of 'woman'. I don't know why but although you are writing on a topic concerning a great social problem you are so naively using words that are actually another maybe even more importand social problem. The word 'girl' in modern world is used out if politeness for showing that a woman is virgin and sorry but there is only one word for females who are at the ge of coutship and it is 'woman' even if they are virgin. Oh and is by sayin 'girl' you mean that you've made reference to the victorian era courtship then OK since then they were just children-thus girls. Maybe you should write more about the 'keeping of the honor of a female' or 'why people are so compulsive on the matter virginity' so they use the word 'girl' .
