What is the new opinions section meant to include? How will this differ from news analysis? Is it meant to include such things as book reviews? It is always interesting and exciting to see additions to categories.

Good question...what about CD reviews? Concert reviews?
My news focus is in music, independent artists, etc...but I wouldn't mind doing book reviews and CDs reviews as well. I just wasn't sure if that was too featuresque for NP so I have avoided it. Please let me know your thoughts on those types of stories.

All reviews are welcome. The "opinion" tag is meant as a "transparency" tool to help contributors and readers distintinguish between - for the most part - political/social reporting vs. political/social commentary.
Is this clear enough to be useful?

I just noticed the 'opinions' tag. It is clear enough for now, and its usage will determine if further segmentation is needed.

- Glad to hear it, I'll start working on some reviews rather than talking about it so much!
- Very clear to me. Not a section, but more of a tag (for now, obvious reasons).
