Global Days for Darfur -Events from April 23rd-30th
To call attention to the escalating violence and the continued failure
of the international community to adequately respond to this crisis,
activists across the world have come together to plan "Global Days for
Darfur". This week of rallies, marches and vigils will run from April
23rd to April 30th and will highlight that "time is running out" for
the people of Darfur.

Google Earth is even doing its part. They have partnered with the Holocaust Museum to map the atrocities. "People can now locate and
visualize with great specificity what is happening in Darfur," said
Sara Bloomfield, director of the museum. Unlike the Holocaust in Nazi
Germany, "there is plenty of visual proof about Darfur, and that can
build understanding, empathy and the ability to act."

You can be a part of the solution. Log on to www.savedarfur.org and find an event in your area.

Deborah Denson is selling Panties for Peace to spread awareness about the genocide in Darfur. At www.happymonkey.biz, 50% of all panties profits are donated to the Coalition to Save Darfur.

Blogmonkey, I think your story has potential but needs some improvement. I've got a few suggestions, and if you give them a try, I'd be happy to remove this flag.

Where is the story in this post? You have just linked to the headline and a single sentence, but the bulk of the story is missing. Was this an error? Do you need help with our highlight tool? Please email me at kfontana@nowpublic.com if you need help.

I wasnt sure what was newsworthy in this story. News should always be about posting current stuff - new things you've discovered.

Please review What Makes News News. It can really help ify ou follow the old "W5" news formula -- making sure you have answered the questions: Who? What? Where? When? And Why? (You might want to check out our J-Tips for more help.)

Blogmonkey, thanks for improving your story -- I can see you've put more effort into it. I've removed the flag and now more readers can see it. Thanks for your contribution.

First I'd like to thank Deborah, then I'd like to ask, why would Bush go there(Darfur)?

Iraq has worked out so well for him, what - with anti war factions making such a stink and all. I can't imagine him sticking his neck out just because the same whiners want to feel good. Bush tried to help the Curds and Rape chamber victims and future terrorist victims.

It could be said that our leaders have priorities.

Interesting stuff though, I never heard that underwear could be taken off to promote "world peace", we need to get that message to the miss USA pageant. It could make it a highly rated show next year(they all want world peace).

Blogmonkey, you've convinced me you've done the work - it's authentic. I also think that you've been fair and thorough. I didn't get the sense that you were hiding your biases, or passing off other's work as your own. Or worse -- getting paid by those you cover -- so it's transparent and independent. I also think you deserve praise for being an eyewitness, and for your investigative efforts. Good stuff.
