Parisians gathered yesterday as a reminder to their politicians that they signed an ecological pact protecting the country's natural resources. April 22 is the first round of France's national elections--they do a second round on May 6 if no candidate wins 50% or more of the vote--so this protest (as well as last week's riots) are probably the beginning of many political activities in the coming weeks.

See the invitation to the protest, below, as well as a (loose, as it was done with my high school French and the aid of an online translator) English translation.

"Together, three weeks until the first voting round of presidential
election, let's remind the candidates that they signed the
ecological Pact and engaged in proposals.

ONG environmental, with The Nicolas Hulot Foundation, are
linked in the common call 'Vote for Our Planet!'

Let us be numerous, in all the areas of France, to affirm our
determination and our vigilance."
