The Dressing Room restaurant co-owned by actor Paul Newman and master chef Michel Nischan in Westport, Conn., reopened Friday night (Feb. 9, 2007) for full operations after being damaged by flooding caused by a cracked sprinkler pipe.
The restaurant, located adjacent to the Westport Country Playhouse, suffered damage to its rear dining room and basement early Monday when a sprinkler pipe cracked due to frigid temperatures, according to fire officials.
The restaurant was able to get its front dining room and bar back in operation shortly after the flood, but the larger rear dining room only was able to be reopened Friday night.
