Luciano Pavarotti's funeral is being held today in the Duomo of Modena at 3 PM (CET). Thousands have visited the cathedral to pay homage to the deceased tenor in the past two days. Yesterday the church was opened at 6 AM and was closed past midnight. This morning people was allowed in again at 6:45.


Italian President Giorgio Napolitano was among those who visited. Pavarotti's ex wife Adua Veroni was also present in the church and said the has to recover and was not available for any interviews.


Thursday night, on the day the popular tenor died, Italian national TV channel RAI 1 changed its prime time programming to rebroadcast the historical 1990 concert at the Terme di Caracalla starring th Three Tenors.


Tenor Andrea Bocelli will sing during today's ceremony, which will be broadcasted live on television.


When the white coffin will leave the cathedral, Pavarotti will be saluted by the Frecce Tricolori, the Italian Air Force aerobatic tream.
