288 people in 39 states have been sickened by Peter Pan (no... not the remake with Robin Williams...) and/or Great Value peanut butters.

With schools banning all things nutty, farmers using the plants to leech toxins from soil after years of fertilization and now several people getting Salmonella poisoning, the previously innocent peanut is an agent of evil.

Seems my childhood nick-name is now out of order, Dad, sorry.

Please read the original story in Healthy Day.

Anyone with pics of bare supermarket shelves where the peanut butter once stood?

My mother had been sick for over a week and we could figure it out, I became ill a few days later and then we seen the news showing the peanut butter to which we checked and it matched the ones that were being recalled.  My mother eats alot of peanut butter and she is still sick today.  The doctor told her that since she is feeling better each day not to worry as it will pass, but if the symptons turn for the worse then she must come in for a visit.  As far as I know we are the only ones in our area that had been sick as noone else has came forward.

First heard about this on the local news channel last night.  I checked my numbers and I WON!  ;-)  2111.  So I proceed to the ConAgra Foods website for information.  The plant in Georgia has been closed down until the problem is solved.  There's instructions on where to send the lid for reinbursement.  We had purchased our Peter Pan from Publix about a week ago.  I had eaten three small snacks with no apparent problems.  The news report says to take the jar to the doctor if you become sick.  ConAgra should pay for a doctor's visit also.  Publix has pulled all Peter Pan from the shelves.

Also Yahoo should use Flickr members for photos on news sources.

This is a great idea.
