A longtime friend came up at a party last week, asking what it would
take to get me on board the campaign that seeks to tear down the
Alaskan Way Viaduct, and not replace it.

As one of the NowPublic editors, I’ve flagged your item as Incomplete.
Your intro is not your own and needs to be presented as a quote.
In addition the existing intro has little meaning for the average reader without some additional information. I suggest introducing it yourself, with some insightful comment.
Please feel free to write your own comment in response, but first check out NowPublic news values and our Code of Conduct. These will make your stuff better.

The email I received, which I just read, also stated you flagged this article as not "authentic". You have caught me on a bad day, today. I missed the quotes, I apologize. As for being required to make an "insightful" comment, I am not. Nor do I feel compelled to rewrite the author's story in my own words. I am sorry if you do not find the article believable, you would have to take that p with the author himself. And right now, I really could care less. Nor did I claim the words in the intro as mine.

I'm sorry, before I forget, if I remember correctly that article is based up supposition and "what if's" and not presented as fact. Please keep that in mind.

yes, but the way it is presented is meaningless without some form of context creating intro. WHY did you make the post? Plus put quoted material into quote marks. The bar has been raised on expectations by NP interms of conext and relevence. Posting snippets only is no more.
