NGOs and newspapers are writing over the years about the malnutrition in Melghat but situation has changed least and around 500 children are dying even today in Melghat every year. Not only in Melghat, malnutrition is a problem to be handled seriously even in the cit also. Malnutritioned children have been found in slum areas of the city in considerable number. As a part of performing the duty towards society AMC Commissioner Uday Rathod called a meeting of his officials and appealed them to adopt one undernourished child in the city. Rathod told that we are doing this as an experiment and we had asked officials to participate in this noble work volunteerily. If our experiment will get success we will then appeal to people to help us in increasing the lifeline of unfortunate children in our society. It is to be noted here that the work started by AMC is not a part of government scheme, but Corporation has taken this responsibility at its own which definitely be inspiration for others in the society.
