"As far as Australia is concerned, we wish the relevant authorities in Indonesia would take legal action on the basis of the KNKT findings," he said.

However, there was a difference in the legal system between Indonesia and Australia. The citizens in Australia could file a coronial inquest, the result of which could be submitted to the prosecution office, while Indonesia has no such legal system, he said.

"But we only wish that Indonesia applies its own system. We that the case be handed over to the police on the basis of a possible legal action," he said.

Earlier, the KNKT findings showed an error in flight standard operating procedure (SOP) during landing which caused the aircraft to crash in flames killing 21 passengers on board.

KNKT Chairman Tatang Kurniadi said his side intentionally used the term error in flight procedure. If it had caused by human or pilot error, the KNKT investigation was not comprehensive enough.
