There are a lot of professional athletes widely known as creeps. Beckham has never struck me as one of them, so this comes as a bit of a surprise. Too rich and slightly vaccuous, sure, but never mean-spirited. He's been through worse experiences in his career on the National side (red cards, etc...). No disagreement on your thoughts on McLaren's blunders - especially his goaltending choices in that game v. Croatia. They were justifiably his final decisions as England boss.
