Interesting piece here from the Associated Press. Many countries provided shelter to Nazis during WWII and after.

MexicoReporter.com covered a Nazi memorabilia store in Mexico City last year - click here for the piece:

Nazi Hunt in South America

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Published: November 28, 2007

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is extending a campaign to search for aged Nazis to South America, where investigators say they believe Aribert Heim, left, in an undated photo, one of the most wanted suspected war criminals, is hiding. The center is offering a $460,000 reward for information leading to the capture of Dr. Heim, known as “Dr. Death” for allegedly performing gruesome medical experiments on concentration camp inmates. If alive, he would be 93. His daughter lives in Chile, and he continues to maintain a bank account in Germany containing more than $1 million, said Efraim Zuroff, the center’s chief Nazi hunter. Mr. Zuroff said “dozens, if not hundreds” of Nazi war criminals were hiding in South America. The countries involved in what the center calls Operation Last Chance are Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay.

Wow, it's incredible to think that some of these guys might be still alive.

MexicoReporter, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay welcomed the defeated Nazi criminals of war and will always be remembered as countries who's past Goverments gave aid and comfort to some of the worlds most evil men to have walked the Earth. Good Find

Yep, they've been flushing them out for decades now.

An entire community of German Nazi's fled to S. America and settled in together. No doubt they've helped the named fugitives over the years.

South America was a top Nazi destination as the Axis crumbled. Argentia was, at the time, especially receptive, with Juan Peron employing several known Nazis. This did not make it into the musical.

With each year, fewer and fewer participants in WWII's atrocities survive. Those still alive are octo- and nonagenarians.

I am always saddened when people whom Nazis would first use, then exterminate, worship them. It seems more pathetic even than it is dangerous. Like a dog licking the hand of the man who beats it.
