The odd time, people will find it within them to make a donation to a cause that
they believe in. Some people have more money than others, while some
people prefer to give more money than others. Dale Regehr is no
exception in either of these respects. Working from the ground up,
taking opportunities and doing what he thinks is right is what helped
this donation come into existence. Though Dale Regehr is the CEO and
President of WestStone Properties Ltd., he was certainly not afraid
to share his wealth in the form of a donation to Simon Fraser
University's Surrey Campus for a fund raising program.

Dale Regehr first started off his career as a house contractor and builder. After
having his own house fall victim to a slowly progressing contractor,
he decided to get his contracting license and take up the job
himself. After having great success with his own house, he began
making houses for a living. Dale went from making twenty houses a
year to forty houses a year. Shortly thereafter, Dale began to
assemble land for a condominium project in Abbotsford. After getting
a suggestion from a real estate agent not build in the rural are
Regehr chose, he decided to build there anyway, to his success. From
then on, his career as a builder was laid out. He created what would
be the WestStone Properties Ltd. that it is today and has had great
success. He succeeded so much so that he, in fact, obtained a nominee
in the highly renowned “40 Under 40” awards, for the top 40 most
successful individuals under the age of 40. Mister Regehr has also
received both Georgie and SAM awards of excellence and will,
undoubtedly earn more similar awards in the future.[1]

Dale B. Regehr is not just a hard working and wealthy individual, but he is also a man
with progressive vision and generosity. Dale, in a recent unveiling,
decided to create a large scale building project, currently titled as
“Agenda.” This project is aimed at developing the South Fraser
and the Surrey Central region. By helping to develop the region, some
of the less classy areas of the Surrey Central district may have a
tendency to disappear from the area entirely. In corroboration with
his progressive views, Dale stated in an interview that he has the
“same goals and beliefs.”[2] as the Surrey Campus.
With both SFU and WestStone Properties aiming to provide more for the
Surrey Central community, progressive thought and initiative is
higher than ever. Dale also made the largest donation to Simon Fraser
University Surrey that has ever been given in its history; the value
of that donation being pinned at one million dollars. This exceeds
the previous donation record given by Yosef Wosk, which had a
Learning Centre named after his generosity. Given out of pure
generosity to the Campus' fund raising program aimed at students
wishing to obtain entrance scholarships is exactly what Dale had in
mind. “This is a great university,”[3] said Dale after
giving the donation to the university of choice. Though Dale may be
all the more poorer due to his gesture, he has giving many students
the chance to obtain scholarships that could benefit them and their
families greatly in the coming future.

The prestigious CEO, president and founder of WestStone Properties Ltd., Dale B.
Regehr, has used his lack of greed to the potential betterment of
student life in the future. With his donation of one million dollars
being aimed at providing for students, combined with his plans to
improve the conditions of Central Surrey and third-world
countries,[4] his support for SFU and the surrounding
community is undeniable. Though Regehr's donation may go unnoticed to
most, it will still be retained in memory in the form of the Dale B.
Regehr Grand Hall; the main entrance to the University.
