Two Indonesian workers arrive home from Iraq
Tangerang (ANTARA News) - Two female Indonesian workers who had been
rescued from a conflict area in Kurdistan, Iraq, by non-governmental
organization (NGO) Migrant Care arrived here on Wednesday afternoon
aboard an Emirates flight.
The two, identified as Ellly Anita and Darmiati Jaba, were in
physically weak condition after the hardships they had experienced
during their stay in Iraq.
"Previously, I worked in Dubai but I ran away after my boss threatened
me. Later I got another job in Mosul, Kurdistan, Iraq," Elly said.
She said during her stay in Iraq she often felt frightened as there
were a lot of fighting and bomb explosions near her work place.
Anita also said according to her knowledge, she and Darmiati were among
a total of 50 Indonesians who were working in Iraq but she had no idea
where the other Indonesians were now. (*) END
