Good story, alaaron! Seems paradoxical on the surface, but there's very good reasons for this phenomenon. 

 I think the main reason for why (some) women choose "bad guys" over "nice guys" is because in essence, mating is about competition. Women get approached often and it takes something out of the ordinary to get their attention. A man who engages her but seems to be unaffected by her feminine wiles or "plays by his own rules" will intrigue her, whereas a nice yes man will only bore her.
